Spring Break is not a college co-ed exclusive anymore as parents with children are oftentimes taking advantage of the kids being out of school.
It might surprise you to know that Spring Break is not a college co-ed exclusive anymore as parents with children are oftentimes taking advantage of the kids being out of school. But obviously as a family, the last thing on your agenda is finding that perfect destination only to be overwhelmed by hordes of loud, partying 20 somethings that are embarrassing to be around. Not to mention the fact that their recklessness could endanger the welfare of your children.
Fortunately, you can avoid all this by planning your Spring Break family vacation at any one of these 7 great destinations:
Amelia Island, Florida – not only is this northeast Florida island one of the more beautiful destinations on our list, it is definitely one of the most peaceful and serene spots to visit most times of the year, especially during the wintertime. Pristine beaches, clear blue sea and sunny all year through, this is a popular spot for families and couples.
Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas – this resort and waterpark offers luxurious surroundings and outrageous above and underwater activities for kids (Atlantis Kids Adventure). They’ll also enjoy the marine habitat, numerous gaming systems, rock climbing, and water slides.
Carlsbad, California – situated along the Pacific coast roughly 30 minutes north of San Diego, you will find there is a lot more to enjoy than just the beach. Carlsbad puts you in close proximity to museums, theme parks, and zoos. So the kids will love spending time here. And you’ll enjoy it too.
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina – while all the college kids are raising a ruckus in Myrtle Beach, you’ll be enjoying the tranquil setting of Hilton Head Island further south. The island has roughly 14 miles of sandy beachfront to enjoy and stretches 12 miles in length by 5 miles wide. Watching sunsets and sunrises are a must do.
Rancho de los Caballeros, Arizona – located north and west of Phoenix and less than 10 minutes from downtown Wickenburg is this old-school dude ranch. You’ll almost feel like it’s a sleep-away camp for parents as well as children, except the food and lodging is far better. Enjoy a weekend with your family, or as a couple. Maybe even a relaxed solo weekend can be rejuvenating.
Smugglers’ Notch, Vermont – located near the sleepy village of Jeffersonville, Vermont is a great ski destination known as Smugglers’ Notch. Even though school is out for the week, you can enroll them in skiing classes while you and your spouse tackle more challenging slopes. It can be extremely exciting for the whole family.
Steamboat Springs, Colorado – this is another great ski destination to consider for spring break as it is an extremely kid-friendly destination. The kids will be guided by great ski instructors while mom and dad can enjoy a lot of après-ski activities.
